We believe that your personal reading data belongs to you. This Privacy Policy describes how our book-tracking mobile application (Fablebound) processes information. We do not collect, store, sell, or share any personal data.

1. Data Collection and Transmission

  • No Personal Data Collected: Fablebound does not collect any identifying personal information (such as names, email addresses, phone numbers, or accounts).
  • Local-Only Storage: All books, reading logs, and personal tracking data you input are stored locally directly on your device. We have no backend server and no access to this information.

2. File Access and Device Storage

Fablebound utilizes Apple's native Document Picker system APIs (implemented via the third-party Xibbon Godot Apple Plugins Foundation wrapper) to let you manage files.

  • Apple Files App Integration: Because data is stored completely locally, you can choose to access, back up, or manage your application data directly via the native iOS Files app and iTunes File Sharing.
  • Control: We do not track, intercept, or see the files you select or store through these local file menus.

3. In-App Subscriptions & Transactions

Fablebound manages subscriptions using Apple's native StoreKit system frameworks (via the Xibbon Godot StoreKit wrapper).

  • Payment Processing: All payment processing, subscription tracking, and financial transactions are handled securely and directly by Apple App Store Connect.
  • Zero Financial Visibility: We do not collect, view, or retain your credit card details, transaction history, or billing information.

4. Third-Party API Requests (Book & Cover Lookups)

When you search for a book or look up cover art, Fablebound acts as a direct conduit making real-time outbound HTTP requests to the following public directories:

  • OpenLibrary API
  • iTunes Search API

How this affects you: These queries transmit only your search text (e.g., a book title, author, or ISBN) over the web directly to those databases to fetch book data and imagery. These lookup requests do not transmit any personal identifiers or device telemetry, and the data fetched is only rendered on your screen or saved locally to your device.

5. Third-Party Links

In compliance with Apple's developer guidelines, specific book metadata or cover designs retrieved from the iTunes Search API may display direct links allowing you to open or view that work inside the official Apple Books app. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of external target apps like Apple Books.

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Effective Date."
